It is possible but due to a lot of changes to the product in the meantime, you might need to do more manual cleanup.

Firstly, you should be able download and install a trial of the latest version (RH2022 update 1 as of 10 Mar 2023) alongside your current version. I personally would customise the installation folder rather than accepting the default, to make sure I didn't install over my existing version. (If I couldn't change that setting I would install on a separate PC, just to be safe.)

I would make sure my RH10 project was as clean as possible - clean up broken links, delete unused files, etc. Then I'd make a backup zip of the entire project, just in case.

If the cpd file exists in that version I'd then delete the cpd file and reopen the project in RH10 just to check everything still looks good. The cpd file can hide some problems and deleting it will show them up - the file is recreated when you open the project. Create a temporary folder in you project - this seems to force RH to do a full "scan" of the project and fixes some issues that affect some, but not all, projects - once RH finishes thinking you can then safely delete the temporary folder. Tidy any other problems you come across.

Once the project is clean, try upgrading to the latest version and see how things look.

If it doesn't upgrade successfully, because it's such an old version I think you should then contact support. They might be able to help, or provide  a trial for RH2019, which would allow you to upgrade the project to the last Classic version, then to the New UI version, which should allow the project to upgrade correctly.

See your contact options at the following link. The email address is recommended as it goes to a dedicated Robohelp team. https://helpx.adobe.com/contact/enterprise-support.other.html#robohelp

I think there have been a few other people upgrading from RH10 as well, so you could search the forums to see if you can find any other suggestions from people with direct experience.

@Amebr All versions have separate default folders for installation. I currently have 2019 (New and Classic), 2020 and 2022 running quite happily on one machine. At one point I also had 2017 Classic but I took that off only because 2019 Classic is little different.

You should also look at Peter's Robohelp Tour, especially the section on upgrading from Classic, so you know how it is done (it's different from upgrading to a newer Classic version). There's also a few known areas to watch out for which will be useful for you.

I contacted Adobe Support, they told us ,
Since RH 10 is a very old version of RH, so upgrade the RH10 project to RH 2019 classic and then to the normal version of RH 2019 and then upgrade it to the latest version i.e. RH22.

I tried these steps,

I was able to migrate my RH10 project RH22. But the .chm generated after the migration was having a lot of issues like links were broken, and images were not loading .
And the expected size of the .chm file was 20MB, but after migration, we were getting on only 500kb.

Can anyone tell me what would be the reasons for broken links and image loading issues?

In the new versions all topics must be in the TOC but they can be hidden so the user does not see them.

Are all your topics in the TOC as if not, that would explain the issue?
