Odd Special Character Inserted in .htm Files

I am using RoboHelp 8. Has anyone seen this "" in your .htm and .js files after you publish your WebHelp files? When I remove that character, then I am able to see the WebHelp output in all browsers, but if that character is left in thefile, then WebHelp is not displayed in all of the Web browsers. Does anyone know why this special character is in the files? How did it get there?

By the way, i did not have this problem with the help project when I was using RoboHelp X5.

Perhaps these two topics help? The first suggests a configuration change on the server, although you didn't mention whether the problem only occurred on the webserver or on your local PC. In any case, perhaps they will at least provide some ideas of where to look.
