I got those roman numbers in my PDF: i, ii, iii, iv but I want: I, II, III, IV
Is this possible? (I don´t want to have to change it in the Word-Doc. first)
Kind regards
When I generate a document using RoboHelp's Style Mapping template I get lower case roman numerals for the contents and arabic for the body of the document. That's the way it is. If you don't want that, then you will have to change it in Word first. Sorry, no other way.

Hi there
Is this a PDF coming via RoboHelp?
Sorry, but sometimes we see folks asking about other Adobe apps here and it's the wrong forum.
Cheers... Rick ![]()

Hi.
Yes - RoboHelp. A Printed Documentation - PDF. I know that I could change it in the generated Word but I would like to get the complete PDF from RH.
I need the "normal" roman numbers, and also need the page number in the middle of the PDF, not on the right/left hand.
Hope there is a possibility.

The PDF will be whatever you would get from RH in a Word document. If you also produce a Word document, are you saying that is wrong when output from RH?

Hm? I don´t understand what you mean.
I generate a PDF - this PDF goes with our software to the customers. Everytime they download a update version from our software they get also an update version from the HtmlHelp and the PDF. So it´s too much work to change everytime I generate a new PDF an ii to an II (for example). Everything what does not happen with generating a PDF from the RH, I must not do - but i want to hav an II and not ii, and I also want the page number in the middle of the page. So I´m asking if there is an possibility to make this things without changing in the Word-Document. ![]()

You need to understand how that PDF is generated. RH creates a Word document in the background that you don't see but that is what gets handed to the PDF creator. If the document is wrong, the PDF will be wrong.
Getting RH lists to work as Word lists is notoriously difficult, partly because Word lists don't work that well in the first place.
I assume your numbering is right in RH so please generate a Word document instead to confirm that is where things are going wrong.

I´m sorry
I know that there is an Word in the background. And i do generate a PDF and a Word. But that´s just helpful when it´s possible to say that the Word which RH generates uses II instead of ii and places the page number in the middle of the page. Is it?

What numbering are we talking about? Lists or pages?
If lists:
What is it in RH topics?
What is it in Word?

I asked "is it´s possible". You said "no".
I don´t know whick information you would need and I think I wouldn´t understand it if You would tell me.
It´s not THAT important. So thanks for your help.
Kind regards

Where in your first post did you say those roman numerals were page numbers? It could just as easily have been list numbers or any other content.
Then you said
I need the "normal" roman numbers, and also need the page number in the middle of the PDF, not on the right/left hand.
That sounded like page numbering in the middle was a separate thing so I still didn't make the connection.

Yes. There are two seperate problems. I know how I could solve bothe problems in the Word (what I don´t want to do).
First: there are roman numbers ii, iii,... on the first few pages (this pages where those roman numbers are shown in the footer - like a page number - show the TOC) -> I would like II and III or XI instead of ii, iii,...
Second: the other pages (after the toc) have page-numbers 1,2,3,4... on page one the page-number is showen on the left side of the page (footer), and on page two it´s on the right side - left, right, left... -> I want it always zentral

Yes I understand. My point was that you made it sound as if your question could have been answered from looking at your first post.
The answer is still this can only be fixed by generating to Word and changing that before you create the PDF. PDF only is for those happy to accept the defaults.
