Possible to create new metadata?

Explorer ,
Mar 14, 2024 Mar 14, 2024

Hi,

Our company is about to implement an artificial intelligence tool to search through the content generated by Robohelp. They issued several guidelines for information structure, including the metadata to be used. Is it possible, in addition to the existing ones (title, description, language, etc.) to create other types of metadata that could be retrieved by the AI search engine?

Thank you very much!

You can add whatever metadata tags you want in your topics through the source view/code view.

Hi Jeff, Not sure I understand. We are not programmers and what I see seems to use tools outside of RH. Is the addition of metadata done via the Robohelp Authoring tool? If so, can you tell me exactly how? Thank you again!

If you have specific tags you want the AI to run across when digesting your HTML output, then follow this link's instructions (https://www.w3schools.com/tags/tag_meta.asp) on what to insert in the Source View (or Code View) screen of a topic in RH (unsure what the name of it is now, it's changed over the versions - see Peter's site - https://www.grainge.org/RoboHelp_Tour/rh2022/user_interface/ui.htm).
Most of what I've heard about LLMs going through your content doesn't require any tags be added - it just creates its own based on your content's words.

Hello again,

Sorry for my stubbornness I may have misspung myself or I misunderstand but I will explain our case because what I see from the answers is that I have to add myself, directly in the html code generated, the metadata inside the <head> ...</head> in this way:

My need is that the search engine set up by our company (ChatGPT) has to search among the metadatas and if the "sector" metadata exists, the weight given to this result will be more important because the sector is specified. If we use a "keyword" metadata, in this case, the result will have the same weight as all the other keywords. So the question is: can I add the "sector" metadata for example, via the Robohelp interface or do I have to add it directly in the HTML code? And, if there's no way to add it via RH tool, is the way I proposed to add it (see screenshot), appropriate?

Thank you very much and sorry if I wasn't clear

Assuming you have RH2022, open a topic, switch to code view using the Source icon and then type your new meta tag into the topic head tag. Peter Grainge runs through all the RH interface icons in the topic Jeff linked to in his post, in case you aren't familiar with this button.

If you don't have RH2022 (or other New UI version) let us know which version you are using.

Hi ok thank you. I have RH2020 but I figure it is the same way as RH2022. It is the way I made it (in the source code view) but I tought there was in interface tool to make it easier to add it but it is ok. So I figure it has to be added this way (see screenshot).  Thank you for your answer
