Powered By FlashHelp Pop Up Window

From my understanding trying to remove this will break other swfs. But is there a way to hide it or display just the company information. I am refereing to the pop up window that appears when you click the powered by icon in the top right. I would still like to keep the popup window but without the generated by flashhelp.

I don't understand why they force this message, even after you have purchased the software/licsence.

Welcome to the forums.

There are a couple of possibilities with this:

1. Get rid of the logo and clickable area completely (my personal preference). To do this, go to this page on RoboWizard's site and download PBGoneX5.zip. It contains an empty .swf that you can place in your skin files. (Don't ask me how Rick did it.)

2. (Requires Adobe Flash.) Edit skin_aboutbox.fla to do what you want. Additionally, you could edit skin_tb_poweredby.fla to change what the "Powered by RoboHelp" button says.

With option #1, if you have Flash, you could add a company image to the toolbar (skin_background_tb.fla). I've added an image to the left side and then opened all the toolbar button .fla files and shifted each button far enough to the right that they aren't sitting over the top of the image.

Note that the "Powered by" part of the Powered by RoboHelp button is loaded dynamically from wfres.xml, which is created from RoboHHRE.lng in your source files. If you change the "Powered by" text in RoboHHRE.lng, it will load in the Powered by button after you generate your FlashHelp layout.

hmm that would be mainly for the button along the top right. It would be ideal for me to keep the button, and the pop up box that appears. But is there any way to remove the powered by part within the about box. It does not appear in the aboutbox.fla, is it also being generated from a .ing file?

or is there no way to remove / hide just that part?

I'm sure there is a way to disable or change it, but it would be a matter of tracking down how that piece is being called and probably having more Flash knowledge than I have. I couldn't find a way to dig into the layers of skin_aboutbox.fla to see if there were extra animations. The HINT says,"The bottom 60px of this movie is reserved for eHelp and will be covered at runtime."

Adobe's article about creating FlashHelp skins doesn't say anything much different: "Note that the bottom 60px of this SWF file is covered at runtime by information about the FlashHelp version and generator. Any elements placed at the bottom of the About box may be covered by this information at runtime."

I wonder if you tried to view the About box without being connected to the Internet--whether that bottom piece would appear or not. If it does, it's got to be on the hard drive somewhere.

I'm sorry I couldn't be more help. Do you know if anyone ever clicks the "powered by" button? Maybe you could include the "about" information in topic footers and thereby eliminate the need for the clickable button and about box. Just a thought.

Hmm I never considered trying to load it without being connected to the internet, ill have to try that. Aside from that I have thought of 2 possible solutions. The first is to reduce the size of that window so that you can't see the bottom 60 pixels. The second is to create my own pop up window and somehow link the powered by button to that, instead of the one the program creates. I could not find any indication of it within the about_box layers. There are several swf's that they do not provide the fla's for, so I am wondering if one of those contains it, or is streaming it in from an external source. Either way, I will have to fiddle around with these 2 possible solutions.

Thanks for all your help.
