Publishing Framemaker with PDF page reference

New Here ,
Oct 24, 2012 Oct 24, 2012

I have a Framemaker book that I'm trying to publish.  The documents in the book has references to PDF files and the pages that should be inbeded into the document (e.g. Reference File: ZZ6701G04.pdf #4).  When I print with framemake or save as PDF, everything works fine, however when I try to publish to HTML5 or ePub, each of the pdf references turns into the 2nd page of the PDF.   So I end up with the same pdf page image for each reference throughout the published document.

So you've got references to bookmarks within the PDF docs, right? Are you linking or importing your FM content into RH? Experiment with doing it the other way (depending on how it's done now) - sometimes things work differently depending on whether you link or import. Next check out your help output type - try generating WebHelp instead of the ones you're doing - maybe refs to bookmarks within PDFs don't work in the SSLs you've tried.

Hi Jeff,

I've tried both methods

I've imported the book file into RH and I end up with the same page from the PDF for each image

I've try to Publish straight from FM 11 and the same results.

FM itself can publish to PDF and the references to the pages works fine, it's only when I'm trying to pushish using RH.

Did you try experimenting with a different help output to see if the PDF bookmark refs are preserved? I imagine that you're creating these PDFs with bookmarks and then packaging them as baggage files in the RH project, right?
