Reducing browser window size hides Search Field, Print and Go to Top Icons

Hi there,

Is there a way to always show the Print and Go to Top icons no matter how the customer has sized their browser help window? Seems that if I stretch the window to the right a bit I can see both icons but at a certain point, when resizing to the left, the two icons disappear, along with the Search field in the header. Just wondering if this can be adjusted.

Currently using RoboHelp 2015, version 12.0.3.428. Creating a Responsive HTML5 help system using the Azure Blue screen layout.

Thanks in advance!

Tom

You should submit a feature request asking for layouts that give more editing options. Include your specific requirement but as an example.

The short answer is only if you have an extensive knowledge of CSS and can edit the layout.css file.

If the go into the layout editor your will see in Functionbar (Desktop) there is a setting for the icon used. That same setting is not in the equivalents for tablets and mobiles. I suspect the logic as far as printers is concerned is that such devices are not connected to printers in the same way.

The Search field disappears on the assumption the window size has been reduced so other items take precedence, the icon remains.

There is a Media Query setting in the layout editor that would enable you to change the point at which the layout changes. Would that be an acceptable solution?

Hi Peter,

Thanks for the reply. Looks like we'll have to live with the idiosyncrasies of the Azure Blue template for now. I don't have the skill set to modify the layout.css file. Took a stab at modifying a copy of it and promptly blew up all of the ToC formatting!

Hoping Adobe will come out with some new templates in the future that allow more in-depth modifications without having to be a css expert!

Best,

Tom
