Good Morning,
I tried to find an answer in the www but without success 😕
We are running RH7 and RH8 on two different projects (one on RH7, the other on RH8) for 7 Authors connected to RSC 3.1 with a database on MS SQL 2005 Server. Without any problems, yet ![]()
The RSO Middletier service has been running on a test machine (with admin permissions) for some time to ensure no negative impact to other services or applications.
Now we have decided that the test is successful and have moved the service to a dedicated server.
As our Active Directory policy is somewhat restricted we created a new systemuser which has been granted with necessary right for running as a service (incl start/stop) and read/write permissions on the database as well as execute rights for any Robosource stored procedures.
However, as soon as I try to start the service with this user, the access is denied (insufficient access rights).
We could give him full admin rights, but as the policy is strictly enforced we want to limit this as much as possible.
Do you know the minimum permissions for this service to run successfully?
many thanks

Hey,
I answered the question myself ![]()
Grant Read/Write/Execute is enough for the RSO3Server Service to run smoothly, obvious it can´t add new databases but this is not required at the moment.
The reason why it didn´t do this in the beginning was, a small error in the setup of the systemuser on the machine it should run.
