RH6 Crashes when compiling HTML project from RHx3

I just upgraded from x3 to RH6, and when I go to compile a fairly large project (with all the bells and whistles such as conditional build tags, links, etc.) It crashes every time! It's a fatal exception error. I'm running Windows XP and can't get this to work no matter what I try. Also, when I go to "Batch Generate" I get a nifty little "X" box stating "too few parameters." I've seen these messages before being no MS novice, but this is truly baffling me as to why it won't generate the project. I even tried restarting my computer, with nothing else running, and generating the project as the first thing after rebooting, without any success.

When I was in RH x3, everything worked absolutely fine without any problems whatsoever. So I'm really baffled by this kind of software nightmare.

Seems to me this software is definitely not ready for release. I'm pretty disappointed and would really appreciate some answers for my $400, and I'm hoping one of the RH experts out there can provide me with some help and assistance.

Thanks in advance.

Craig,
sorry about that. I replaced the file, so you can use the same link to download the original X3 file which was untouched by the RH6 software.

If you remove all the tables from these files, it compiles correctly.

\Wiper (ongoing)\Troubleshooting_Table.htm
\Wiper (ongoing)\export_options\Export_Options.htm
\Wiper (ongoing)\Hardware_&_Installation\Evolution_Handle.htm
\Wiper (ongoing)\Hardware_&_Installation\USB_Handle.htm
\Wiper (ongoing)\Declaration_of_Conformity.htm
\Wiper (ongoing)\Hardware_&_Installation\Parallel_System_Requirements.htm
\Wiper (ongoing)\Hardware_&_Installation\Evolution_Component_Identification.htm
\Wiper (ongoing)\Hardware_&_Installation\USB_Component_Identification.htm
\Wiper (ongoing)\Hardware_&_Installation\USB_System_Requirements.htm
\Wiper (ongoing)\Hardware_&_Installation\Parallel_Component_Identification.htm
\Wiper (ongoing)\Hardware_&_Installation\Evolution_System_Requirements.htm

If you don't use a build expression, it compiles correctly.

It has to be linked to the merged cells issue. The tables do have merged cells although I haven't checked to see if so much as one has them only in end column.

OK. GOT IT!
Thanks to everyone. The problem was 1 table in 1 topic. When I rearranged the table to remove the merged cells from the end column, the whole project compiles correctly. Of course I'll have to change this 1 table in all 20 projects I have going as this is a topic in all projects, but it worked without a flaw. When I first read the "snippets" it led me to believe that you needed to have a conditional text in the merged end column. I was unaware that this problem would occur regardless of any conditional text. So once fixed, it worked without a hitch.

So thanks to everyone.

However, I am still having the "too few parameters" message when I try to run a "batch generation" of any projects. But this is not something that is crucial for right now.

Thanks again, and if anyone has a fix for that second issue, please let me know.

again, you guys are awesome! Thanks so much to Craig and the snippets and all.

Sincerely,
Rob

The wording of Snippets did get changed as the extent of the problem became clearer. Hope it is now clear. If anyone thinks the present wording is unclear, please let me know.

Was the table the one Harvey identified?

Hi Peter,

yes it was the just the table in the topic Declaration_of_Conformity.htm causing the problem. I cannot reproduce the "too few parameters" issue

cheers
