Hi Caspar
Personally, I've used Microsoft Visual Source Safe (VSS) in
the past. However, I did not use it "integrated" with RoboHelp. I
was using it separately for managing RoboHelp projects long before
Source Control was a twinkle in the eHelp developer's eyes.
In my experience, VSS was always rock solid. But I have no
frame of reference how it would behave if integrated into RoboHelp,
where you have an API handling things.
I wouldn't claim that RoboSource Control is buggy. Only that
I notice far more questions posted on it than I see answers. I
suppose if I were still working in the corporate world where I had
servers available, I might be able to test things and provide more
answers on it. As it stands, all I can do is operate locally. And I
don't feel that's a valid test. I think the biggest issue with it
is a lack of user base. The more users you have, the more likely
you see answers where someone has been down the same road you have.
I do wish you the very best of luck in finding answers.
Cheers... Rick
