RH7 crashing on new project

TCS 1 (fully patched)

My colleague has an on-going project, requiring regular updates (i.e. this is not a new project). For the most recent updates, she removed a file from the book and rearranged the order of the book itself, then found that RH would not synchronizing properly to make the help. She's now off to a client site and asked me to take a look.

I made sure the conditions were set via expression in all the FM files, then created a new RH project. I added the book by reference and got past the TOC/Index/Expression settings to the style settings. When I click Edit or Select, RH scans the chapters for paragraph styles. At the end of the last chapter, RH crashes. I've removed chapters from the book from the end, so it's not the last chapter, it's the end of the scan process.

Any ideas?

I retried with fewer and fewer files in the FM book, until I finally deleted the cover and front matter chapters (which RH had happily ignored in the past). That did it! It's regenerating now.

PS this happens on two different computers, and I also tried importing the book.
