RH8 - Editor window crashes, rest of pjct keeps working..

Hello,

I have a newly converted to RH8 project. Everything seems to be going great, expect for random crashes of JUST the WYSIWYG+HTML editor window. I will be working, and out of the blue the editor window will start to streak (e.g. the screen does not update), and starts displaying artifacts from windows behind it or other areas in Robohelp. Eventually, it (just the editor) becomes non-functional. All other areas of the project work fine, including the snippet editor, index, etc. A restart of the applicaiton fixes the issue until it happens again.

Can you check that you have all the updates installed John. You should be on version 8.0.2.208 and can check from the Help > About RoboHelp HTML menu item. If you aren't, use the Help > Updates menu item to install them. You may also want to rename the project's .cpd file and reopen the project.

That is the fix! It looks like my corporate firewall was blocking the Adobe updater, and I naively thought I was running the latest version. A manual update fixed the issue, and now the project is no-longer crashing (as much).
