Good afternoon
Is there any statement from Adobe on whether RoboEngine v5 will run on Server 2008. I have located posts that shows RoboHelp X5 will run on Windows 7 (via compatibility mode). I am looking for a definitive statement from Adobe, but will gladly take a response from an expert here.
Thank you

According to this link Windows Server 2008 http://www.adobe.com/products/robohelpserver/systemreqs/ is supported for RoboHelp Server 8. My guess is that Adobe may not have tested installing RHX5 Server on Windows Server 2008 largely because that version is no longer supported. If you are upgrading your RHX5 licences in any case soon, I'd say it would be best to wait until you do and update the server licence also.

The derth of responses to your query is probably due to the fact that no one has come across this scenario before. RHX5 is very old but I guess you know that already. I'll try and ping some of the Adobe guys to see if I can get an answer. I'll post back when I do.

Sorry before I do this, can you clarify that you mean running RoboHelp Engine X6 on Windows Server 2008?

Hi Colum
We are currently using RoboEngine and RoboHelp v5. The RoboEngine websites are currently deployed to Windows 2003 Server. There is a project to create IIS Farms and these "may" be deployed to Windows 2008 Server. We will phase out RoboHelp in the near future, so I was checking to see if the existing RoboEngine product would deploy to a Windows 2008 Server IIS farm.
Thank you for the assistance

As an aside, you can't send RH output to RoboHelp Server 8 unless you have at least RH7 and even then you have to have the three RH7 updates installed. This is because RH Server has been completely rewritten in Java. It is a must more usable product and so much more easy to install.

Thank you Colum.
We already own RoboHelp 8, so it is just a matter of ordering an upgrade of the RoboEngine to RoboServer. We appreciate the assistance.
