Well, how do I say this in as delicate a way as possible?
Methinks the concept of illocutionary (semantic) intent (as learned in first year linguistics) has eluded the writer of these Help files - to the point where some
instructions are unintelligible, or at least unclear.
It definitely needs a copy editor to go through and fix the english. Many grammatical and other linguistic errors.
I'm also looking for instructional or tutorial type videos if anyone knows of any, or any in production.

Any issues with the help need to be taken up with Adobe, this is mostly a user to user forum.
Take a look at Rick Stone's RoboWizard site. There's a lot of information there and there are videos under Videos > RoboHelp. He also offers training sessions online.
There's also a lot of information on my site.

Very much appreciated Peter.
I'll be working soon for the Privy Council Office (of Canada) which is one
of the highest offices in
Canadian government. They've contracted the odd idea of using the MS
Office Suite to produce
user walk-throughs, web-based Help, animations and so on. So, I suggested
they take a look at
RoboHelp and Captivate as a better solution and now need to learn the
program as quickly as
possible - to be in a better position to "educate" them. (Also as a way to
learn or really get into the
program myself.
I've ordered some books from Amazon as well, and just waiting for those.
Yes, my dad (and late grandad) were both from Wembley, UK. My grandad
worked as an
accountant for the Park Royal bus company (which made double decker buses).
Kindest Regards,

I've removed the personal details assuming you don't want tons of spam. Never post those on any forum is best advice.
When your late granddad worked for Park Royal, one of the tests was the double decker buses had to lean to 45 degrees and not topple over!

Aha! I'll tell my dad (living here in Ottawa).
Grandad also worked as an Air Raid Warden (correct term?) in WWII during the Blitz.
Now off to pick up my book on Adobe
Captivate at the post office. The RoboHelp
2017 book should arrive soon after.
Yes I'm taking a risk with personal details
- just while looking for a new contract
here.
