RoboHelp 2022 URLs in TOC

Hello.  I'm not sure if this has been asked before; I've found somewhat similar questons but not this exactly.  This is more of an "is this normal/supposed to happen?" question because people have found it a little disconserting.

We're converting from RH2017 to 2022, using WebHelp and now Responsive HTML 5.

In 2017, our URLs look like this:

https://intranet.com/project/   - this is when you first open the site online, and this same URL remains no matter what you select from the TOC

https://intranet.com/project/folder_name/abc.htm  - this how a topic url appears if you click the topic from within another topic and it opens in a new tab

In 2022, the URLs look like this:

https://intranet.com/project/#t=default.htm  - when you first open the site to the default topic

https://intranet.com/project/#t=folder_name%2Fabc.htm  - the url changes when you select the abc topic from the TOC (and this can get long depending on the folder names and folder levels in some projects)

https://intranet.com/project/folder_name/abc.htm  -  same as 2017 - how the url appears if you click the topic from within another topic and it opens in a new tab

Is this how it is supposed to work?  Or is there a setting that could be selected so the URL at the top doesn't change (to have it work like 2017).  This might just be a case of everyone having to get used to it, but I wanted to ask if there's a setting I'm not seeing.

Thanks!

This topic on my site explains the different calls for different outputs. RH2022 Calling Context Sensitive Help (grainge.org)

If you are upgrading, I would suggest you look at frameless rather than responsive outputs. That is where Adobe will be focussing future development plus it is a lot easier to customise the template.

If you create a URL to the index page it should open without that message.

Thanks!  We don't (I don't think) use CSH, but I believe in reading through that page that this is just the way it works?  That there is no option to have the URL of the project not change each time the user clicks a new topic from the TOC?

I still have to play with the frameless templates more, but so far I haven't figured out how to remove the "in this topic" box that appears in each topic, and that's the element that no one wants.  (Too big, in the way, and not really appropriate for our topics; if some of the options could be moved to the bottom and made smaller, it would be different).  It looks like there are a ton of elements on the frameless templates but a lot of them don't seem to be editable, but it could also be I don't know how yet.  Or what they all do.   We might have to upgrade next week and if so we'll use the Azure Blue and I can keep working on trying to edit the frameless ones.

Do you want to get rid of just the section from "In this topic" to the bottom of the mini-toc? Or do you want to get rid of the whole right panel?

Note: The following instructions are for RH2019 New UI. The locations and words may be slightly different in RH2022, but should at least give you an idea where to look. Sorry I can't look at RH2022 for better instructions right now.

For the former, that is called the "Mini Toc". To hide just that part, open the frameless skin, switch to the Topic Page tab, expand the Mini Toc section and click on the 'container' entry. Expand the Layout section, then in the Display field select 'none'.

For the latter, you could try the following.

Do the same steps as for hiding the mini toc, but in the Right Panel section instead. Then expand Center Panel and click on the 'container' entry. Expand the Layout section then in the Width field, enter 100%.

If you wanted to keep the icons for print, etc, but in a different location that might be possible, but would take a lot of experimentation and possibly inspecting the output code to figure out specfic css that needs to change.
