RoboHelp air help application does not show pdf files

Hello everyone,

I hope this is the right place to post my problem.

I am developing an air help application and I want to embedd some pdf files. I tried two different ways yet:

1. A direct link to the pdf file (which is located in the project folder)

2. An iframe

In the topic preview both ways are working fine. But when I generate the application, it just shows a black page, where the pdf content should be.

Thanks for your help.

Holger

Welcome to the forum.

It is the right place to ask but it will not be the answer you want.

Only links to HTML and Microsoft Office files are supported. Although it will not help you short term, the more people who report a bug or request a feature, the more likely it is to be actioned. Please follow this link.

Please take a look at the sticky topic Before You Post as often answers depend on the version of RoboHelp being used.

Hello Peter,

Thank you for your quick response. Before I posted I searched this forum but the only similar problem I found was this thread: http://forums.adobe.com/thread/891315?tstart=0 from Christian Breitholz.

If I understood him correctly, he was able to display pfd files within an air help application, but not in a browser based air help. So I thought there must be a possibility to display a pdf in my air help application, too.

Sorry, I read something Adobe had sent me as saying PDFs could not be included but I have just tested and they can. First did you add the PDF to the baggage files and second did you install the AIR help rather than just view it. The PDF will only be viewable if the AIR is installed.

That's the problem. I just viewed the result after the compiling process but did not install it. Now that I installed the application all pdf files are displayed correctly.

Thank you very much for your help.

View Result is useful for checking appearance but not everything works until installed.
