Does anyone know when Adobe will add PowerPoint as a print file output type?

Hi there
You are kidding, right?
I've been using RoboHelp since 1992. I've been a rabid forum participant since 2000. I've been facilitating RoboHelp classes since 2005. Let's just say, RoboHelp and I have met.
And in all that time, I can tell you I've only ever seen one single request for exporting RoboHelp content to PowerPoint.
That would be this request.
The bottom line is that if it were a common request, we might see Adobe build the ability into RoboHelp. So I'm going to say it's probably very unlikely that you will ever see RoboHelp create a PowerPoint output type.
Cheers... Rick

I read a thread on the Home Support forums where Captiv8r had responded to lindakx on the same topic in 2008. I was merely curious if Adobe had it in the product map to be support additional printed types. I am in the process of evaluating tools for a project, and this is one of the secondary criteria I am looking at.
Cheers,
James

LOL, oops! I stand corrected!
I'm getting on in years so my memory must be failing. So I guess this makes two total requests!

As Rick has already said, it is extremely unlikely that RH will ever have the ability to export to PowerPoint. However maybe you could get around this by exporting to another format (e.g. Word or PDF) that you can use to import to PowerPoint.

Interesting point Colum
Hmmm, so let me ponder this a bit. Actually, there is a workflow that may work here. Of course it depends on having the Technical Communication Suite installed. So what one could do is to create the project in either FrameMaker or RoboHelp, then use Captivate to record things as you move through the RoboHelp output. That would give you the hundreds of images that would be needed to build the PowerPoint deck. You could then either export all the background images from Captivate and add them on a slide-by-slide basis to PowerPoint. Or, you could spit out a SWF from Captivate and insert the SWF onto a single PowerPoint slide where the end user would then watch the PowerPoint.
Cheers... Rick
