Robohelp publish zu Confluence - videos and folders

Hi,

we already use this function - it is great. But there are a lot of challenges.

1. Videos (.mp4) are not displayed as videos, just as downloadable file.
2. Folders for a userfriendly structure are empty pages just with the headline. What needs to be included in RH that the Confluence page will have a MINITOC as it is possible to have it in Confluence directly?

How to solve that issues?

So we can add a command or html to the RoboHelp html, that Confluence can work with it correctly. What does Confluence need?

Thanks

Let's start with your version of RH - check your point version and report that. You might have to tweak something in Confluence to solve the issue in #1. I'm not sure what you mean by #2 - can you post a screenshot of what's happening in the Confluence output & in RH? Use the Insert Photos icon to add images.

Hi Jeff,
thanks for your reply.

It is RH Version 2022.3.93
1. It would be great, when we can add a tweak. What can I do?
2. In RH there is a folder - and even in the TOC in RH

perviewacademy_0-1701781233053.pngperviewacademy_1-1701781279854.png

The page "Grundnavigation" is empty when I publish.

But there should be a toc of the sub pages like this:

perviewacademy_2-1701781379458.png

Confluence is giving this macro (site hierarchy) . So is there a way to enter that pattern in RH that on empty pages it will add the macro?
Or do I need to add it to a respective page? If yes, how can I add (which code) that it is displayed correctly in Confluence?

Thanks again.

For #1, you'd have to check in Confluence how (or what) you need to do to adjust the behaviour of displaying/playing video mp4 files vs. downloading them.

For #2, is there already a mini-TOC present in RH on that "Grundnavigation" page? I've never heard of RH output interacting with Confluence macros to produce some site navigation, but it might exist (not too many people output to Confluence on the forums).

Hi,

thanks for the response:

1: when we add a video directly in confluence it is played correctly. Just when it is a RH published page it does not show right. So the question is, what needs to be done in RH for a correct output on Confluence. Because the global behavior in Confluence is to show and play.

2: no, there is no minitoc because the minitoc is displaying the content of the current page. But there is no content 😄

1 - I'd have a look then at the HTML that Confluence adds when you add the video directly & then see what RH is coding. Maybe you need to massage the code in RH to match.

2 - I'm still confused as to what you want displayed on that "Grundnavigation" page - it has to have some content on it in RH for anything to appear in the generated output.

For #2 I think you'll need to contact Adobe as their help doesn't mention if there are codes or settings that allow Confluence macros to be embedded into sections or pages on generate or publish. See the following page for support contact options. The email address listed is recommended as it goes to a dedicated Robohelp team.

@Jeff_Coatsworth I believe Grundnavigation is a section in the TOC which is not linked to a topic. It would translate in Confluence as a page with a Title matching the toc entry title, and no content . The actual topics would then appear in the Confluence page tree as subpages. Confluence has "macros" which are a bit like robohelp placeholders and automatically generate content at runtime. One of them lists the subpages, similar to the mini-toc placeholder in RH.
