Is it possible to use the same keyword twice in the index -
both captialized and not?
I have some key words that I use in a general way and want to
capitalize, but which are also used as a kind of reserved words and
not capitalized. But if I try to create both, the second one I
enter is converted to what is already there. E.g. Function exists,
and when I enter function it is changed into Function.

That is the way the index designer works and is designed that
way to prevent duplicate keywords being entered. Could you rename
them to Function (Generic) and Function (Reserved) or something
like that?
I'm wondering if perhaps you could accomplish this by the
following approaches.
1. Possibly insert a space either before or after the second
term
2. Try changing from storing index terms inside the .HHK file
to storing them inside topics? Then add the second term as a Topic
level term?
I've not really tested this. Just thinking out loud.
