search results are awry

Using RoboHelp for HTML 5.0.1. Problem: I search for a word or a phrase using the keyword search in the output help files. Some of the suggested topics do contain my search term. Others do not. They don't contain anything even close. Nothing similar in underlying code (the wysiwyg i.e.). I can't spot a pattern -- it's not any given phrase or phrases that fail to show. All are common English terms -- no oddball punctuations or spellings etc. We used to see this on rare occasions, but it seems to me to be increasing in frequency. Others see identical behaviors on their machines. Help is served on a network..

Thoughts? I guess I could understand valid topics being omitted more easily than this situation of inappropriate ones being included.

Hi yard camel and welcome to the RH forums.
Are you talking webhelp output here if the output is being stored on a network?

Hi, Colum: output is HTML help. Machines are all running either XP or Vista.

Thanks, YC

Two things spring to mind...

1/ Download and install the RH 5.0.2 patch. You'll find it at this link.

2/ Vista is not supported with this version. The newly released RH7 is the only version where Vista is supported.

Try the patch and see if that solves the problem.

Sorry, Vista's kind of a red herring. What struck us is that while we've seen this "results-no-results" behavior over the last 2-3 years (i.e., way before Vista), lately it seems worse.

Will try the RH patch and see, thanks.
