To clarify further what I am doing...
I am creating a shed graphic from a bitmap image file using the Help Image icon.
I would resize the bitmap to be 180 pixels wide.
Then in RoboHelp for Word 8.0, I would open a topic
In a topic..
I would click on the Help Image icon
Select the bitmap from the File Name list.
Click the Shed button on the right.
Drag my mouse across the image in the Image Workshop area to select the entire image
Select an Action Type of HTML Jump
In the URL area, I would type a web address where a larger version of the bitmap (as a gif) was posted.
Click OK
Save the image using the Save button
Close out of the screen.
Then I would publish my help in a Web Help version.
I posted my help online.
It used to work this way:
You would click on the shed graphic in an online help topic, and the larger posted gif would appear.
This can be seen on [link removed - demonstrated a graphic with a link to a topic]
Now when I follow this process, the smaller image does not link to the larger image. I investigated and found that the HTML link had changed to a Action Type of Macro. When published, the smaller image, then obviously does not link to the larger image.
This was a problem with RoboHelp 7.0, but the fix corrected this problem.
Is Adobe working to correct this problem again?

It would appear that the feature of a shed hotspot graphic in RH 8 for Word outputting to Webhelp is not functioning and if I discover a reason why other than a break in RH v 8 itself I'll update this post; otherwise it looks to me like the hotspot graphic is NOT working; however, here's a bizarre twist: when I create a button graphic, it does work.e.g. put your graphic in as a button; the entire graphic is clickable as opposed to small region of it, but it does work. This is still not acceptable however. I posted a bug to Adobe but have no idea if they will respond.

Tech Services,
If this works, and I have not tried it yet, that will an adequate solution, although I would like it to work as before eventually. Thank you for your resolution to that problem.
There is, however, an additional problem associated with my original bug that will not be corrected by this solution. I tried the method that was listed on post http://forums.adobe.com/thread/92958?tstart=0 but the solution will not work for this procedure.
I have posted the associated item on the forum. The URL for my post is
http://forums.adobe.com/thread/522651
Could you please look into this related issue. Please contact me back with a Case # for this associated item.
Thank you very much.

I have a solution and will post soon. This is not a work around; it is a user error e.g. lack of knowledge e.g. process is not intuitive. Standby.

It appears that the popup macro is not being and cannot be assigned to a SHED portion of a graphic, but can be assigned to an entire graphic. My solution is not found other than to assign the macro to an entire graphic instead of just a portion using the Shed function. Shed function not functioning.

Adobe Technical Support,
I was previously able add shed graphics to sections of a graphic. I was able to do this with RoboHelp 7.0, and it is a big feature in our online help. Are you saying that RoboHelp 8.0 will not support this functionality?
Can you please clarify?
Thank you.

This forum is not going to get you an answer from Adobe Technical Support. You need to decide if you want to get help from other users, for which this is the place, or whether you want Adobe Technical Support to assist you.

Have support resolved this for you or confirmed that it is a bug? What response have you had? Do you have an incident number?

There is a workaround that will work for up to 36 hotspots.
|
If the hotspot is for the whole image, it will show as above after saving, just the first character. If the hotspot is for part of the image, then it seems to show the whole topic name but behind the scenes it is still only working on the first character.
Instead of accepting the default first character, change it to any a-z 0-9 character. Each has to be unique.
Then create an alias.

Seems to work but that may not be enough hotspots for you so do report it.
The more people who report a bug or request a feature, the more likely it is to be actioned. Please follow this link.

Also make sure you keep onto Support. I think it will need a development fix but you must get them pushing for that.

Peter Grainge,
Thanks, this will help a little, but yes, I have more than 36 hotspots, more like 360. I am reporting it in the bug area that you sent me and will continue to call adobe tech support.
Thank you so much for your assistance.

Adobe have created a DLL which will be made available on their site in due course. Pending that, please see Using RH8 on my site where it can be downloaded.
