I'm getting a Word Output Error "Failed to copy /xxx/xxx.png" see screenshot.

I can hardly believe variables don't support images. We had different versions of the product and will have to use variables in our templates/books to include the proper image variation using variables. I know how to use a conditional but this is much more work than using a variable because I have to do it in every instance on every page instead of just referenceing a variable that I name "mobile icon" vs. "web icon", and yes they are different for the same control, so we need these to swap out and manage them from one location not all over the place.

Please suggest any workarounds.

It's always best to include image using the photo image in the toolbar so that they can be seen at the same time as reading the text. Right now though there is a bug in the forum so that attachments cannot be opened.

Is it a PNG that you are attempting to put in a variable by some means that is failing or PNGs generally?

The Word ouput does allow PNGs. Try it with the About RoboHelp sample project to prove it.

Am I right in reading this as you have multiple instances of specific icons? Do you mean in one project or across a number of projects? You could have a folder for images outside your projects then link to them from each project. Thus you would have ImagesFolder with one instance of each image. That folder would then be a linked folder in each project and you would add it to topics in the normal way with tags. When the image needs updating, you would update it in ImagesFolder and then it would show as Out of Sync in your projects. That allows you to ignore it if you need to but generally you would just update it. Would that fly?

Interesting concept to use a folder outside of the project, that sounds like a good solution. Then we could use Tags with conditionals to render either the X or the Y image based on our conditional rules.  We will give this a try, but I'm 99.99% sure this will work as long as the tags and conditionals work.  Thank you very much for the creative technical work around!
