In generated output I enter ELEMENT as my search term and, as well as sensible suggestions being presented (such as ELEMENTS and ELEMENT'S) I get some rather bizarre suggestions, such as ELMENTADD.
Worried that I had let a few typos into the content I selected ELMENTADD and was offered five hits. But when I searched through these five documents I couldn't find any instance of ELMENTADD.
I then went back to the corresponding RH documents and searched for ELMENTADD in both the content and the source code … but still no hits. Where is RH picking up its predictuve search text from and is it something we can somehow control?

If your example were First and First Aid came back, I could maybe see some logic. However, your example makes no sense unless you have made a previous search for ELEMENTADD, unlikely.
I suggest for this one you need to go to Adobe Support. See https://helpx.adobe.com/contact/enterprise-support.other.html#robohelp for your Adobe Support options. The email link tcssup@adobe.com is recommended as it reaches a team dedicated to Technical Communication Suite products including RoboHelp.
