Tables all different sizes and coming off page

I'm relatively new to RoboHelp so I've been pouring over these forums to answer my questions, but I've never posted a question myself. I'm having a couple of different problems right now generating the printed documentation. I think most of my problem is the styles and formatting, but there are a few other things I was wondering if I could get some help with:

(1) My project uses a ton of tables for formatting. The tables look OK in RoboHelp, but then when I generate it to MS Word the tables are all different widths. Some are really skinny and some are so wide they come off the page. Others are just fine. When I look at the table properties in RoboHelp and compare the wide or skinny tables with the normal tables everything is exactly the same.
(2) Oddly enough, and I'm mentioning this in case it's related to #1, when I generate to printed documentation a bunch of weird spaces are added to my word document inside tables. For example, I may have a list of steps (1, 2, 3) and entered down in between the steps but then when I generate to printed documentation rather than 1 line down there are a bunch of spaces so some steps start on the same line or are indented oddly because there are spaces instead. In RoboHelp there are no spaces, but if I look at the source code the spaces are definitely there. Why does this happen, what can I do about it, and is it related to my weird tables in #1?

Since I'm on the topic of printed documentation, I'm also having a problem with some topics double printing one right after another. I don't know if this is a conditional build tag thing, but maybe. I'm using several conditional build tags (printed, online, client1increment1, client1increment2, and client2). Seems like if a topic has 2 tags it's printing twice?? I haven't been able to verify that as I only looked at a few topics that double printed, but that was the case in the few I looked at.

Hi Steph and welcome to the RH community.

You may want to strat by looking at this tutorial on creating printed documentation. Having said that, you are always likely to have some reformatting when producing Word documents, particularly where tables are involved.

As far as your duplicate topics are concerned, can you give us an example of the build tags, whether they are topic or content based and the expression you use.
