TFS version source control and upgrading

Community Beginner ,

In connection with upgrading our environment, I have a few questions I need your help with:

  1. We are about to update our many RH 9 Projects to RH 11. Will the TFS source control be upgraded with the project?
  2. Our TFS is now 2013. Should we updtate the client's MSSCCI to Microsoft Visual Studio Team Foundation Server 2013 & 2015 MSSCCI Provider 32-bit?
  3. Any important input re. transferring client environment to new client with Windows 8.1?

Thanks

I don't know if this answers any of your questions, but I would recommend manually checking out the whole project in TFS before opening the project for the first time in RH11. This will ensure all files that need to be updated will be writable - in previous versions occasionally RH seemed to get a bit confused if it was trying to check out and update at the same time.

Re. question 2.

Installation of the Visual Studio Team Foundation Server 2013 & 2015 MSSCCI Provider proved harder than it ought to be. If you simply run it as is from the download site, it will fail with this warning

"Microsoft Visual Studio 2010 Team Explorer or its tools are not installed or registered. Please install or repair your Team Foundation Client Installation". Which is incorrect.

The solution is to save it locally when you download it and install the .msi as administrator through the command prompt (cmd.exe).
