We are now using RoboHelp 2020 (after converting a .chm from RH9 to RH2019 Classic and RH2019). We have 4 RH projects (will be deliverable help with our software). There are crosslinks to the generated help in other projects. We're having trouble with the TOC showing the correct selected topic from generated or published Responsive (we still call it WebHelp) .htm files. I tried it in Chrome and Edge browsers. We use Windows 10 OS. I can open the intranet/published help, go to a topic, select another topic in the TOC and TOC highlights another topic not the one I choose and that's displayed in the main page. We've also tried tests with the generated/published index.htm files as a starting source. Also, if I 'Copy link address' from the TOC, then open a new browser window and paste the URL, it may show the wrong TOC entry or none at all. We have many software windows/forms that have ? buttons and we want to be able to open the specific topic (no problems with old .chm file). This is very confusing and I don't know how to fix it. Can you help, please? TIA!

Sounds like you're doing merged help - have you gone through Peter's guidance and sample project on merged help in grainge.org?

No, we're not doing merged help. The problem exists in the same RH project.

You say you have 4 RH projects and that you are making links to the output files of other projects. Unless the location of such destinations is always the same (an absolute path), the links will never work right unless you contain them in a merged help scheme.
Your issue with the ? buttons concerns Context Senstive Help (CSH) and the use of Map IDs or URLs - see Peter's site about that too.

Thanks for your help. I made the question too complicated so I opened another post:
TOC not opening to the selected topic

Much better to add another post to the original thread. I am adding a link to your new thread and now locking this thread.
