This forum is littered with "I never encountered any
problems" when users are told not to work over a network. There
simply is no workaround to these RH basic precepts: you must
install RH on your local machine with full administrator rights,
and you must work your RH projects on your local machine.
I don't see the need to have source files on the server for
"others" to have "access." However, if you must, then simply copy
the project down to your machine whenever editing is required, and
then copy the updated project back up to the server when you're
done.
As to the "external topic" issue: unless you have created or
imported a topic into (that is, within) the RH project, the project
considers it as "external." Two things must be considered:
* Unless you add the topic (or any other file such as a .pdf,
etc.) to the Baggage Files, the file will not be included in the
output generation or the output publishing process.
* Unless the path in the source file's hyperlink is identical
to the path's location in the output, it will not be found.
Good luck,
Leon
