Topics do not show up in generated Help

I have an existing Help project. The books and topics I'm now adding no longer show up in the generated Help. I only have approximately 300 topics in this Help project. Can someone help me figure out what's going on? This project could possibly end up with 1000's of topics.

Thanks.

Hi there

I think we need more information. All you have said is that you have added books and pages and they aren't showing up.

What remains unanswered here are the following:

  • Did you re-generate or re-compile afterward?
  • Are you certain you are looking at the correct file?
  • What is your output type?

Cheers... Rick

I did regenerate the Help after adding the books / topics. I am looking at the right output, which is Webhelp.

Let me know if you require more information.

Carolyn

Hi there

Okay, time for a step back and ask another question or two. Sorry.

Where did you add things? Did you simply add topics to the project? If so, you probably need to add them to your TOC.

Sometimes folks will use the auto-create TOC feature. Once they do this, they think anything added later is automatically included. If you are in this category, be advised the auto-create TOC is a one time shot. You are telling RoboHelp to look at the existing topics, then build a TOC based on what you find. If you add topics later, you need to add them manually to the TOC or run the wizard again.

Cheers... Rick
