Unable to Compile Microsoft HTML Help

New Here ,
Sep 01, 2010 Sep 01, 2010

Using RoboHelp 7 for Word , Windows XP - projects were compiled using Winhelp 2000 as primary layout & now are generating projects with Microsoft HTML Help as primary layout.  We have had no problem until today......the Compile hangs up when it reaches the Updating topics stage & only way to exit is to Crtl-Alt-Delete - we are not able to Cancel ?  In 'Task Manager' their are 2 RoboHelp not responding entries ??

None of the settings have changed & cannot seem to figure out what has happened - also there are now 2 sets of .rtf files? .rtf  and .rtf.rtf

Has this happened to anyone else?  and if 'yes' how was it resolved?  This only happens when compiling Microsoft HTML Help - generating Winhelp 2000 works fine.

When RoboHelp hung, it probably hadn't closed down properly so when you restarted it, you had two instances or double trouble.

The double extension I haven't seen. Maybe some program you use that creates a backup file before changing anything? Whatever caused it, I would make a copy of the project and in that trash the double extensions. Then try again. Make sure that when you compile there are no images showing, they should be converted to code first.
