Unable to see TOC in FlashHelp output

New Here ,
Apr 17, 2008 Apr 17, 2008
Just generated FlashHelp for a project I am working on. While testing it, I found that I could not see the Table of Contents or the navigation bar on top for the generated help. Things seem to be fine with other outputs I generate but FlashHelp is just not working. All files seem to have been generated correctly in the output. I am just wondering if it is something to do with my browser setting (I use IE) And I use use Robohelp X5

Anybody else had the same problem?

Actually, I am just publishing to a file system and not to an http location. Robohelp lets you do this, so I assumed it should work. But obviously it doesn't:-)

Are there any particular things that need to be in place for FlashHelp output to be published to a file system and yet have the TOC and navigation to work?

Another possibility is that if you haven't already, you need to adjust your Flash security settings on your computer (but I think there's usually some kind of warning that tells you that your computer is blocking the Flash content). Go to the Flash Security Manager and add the drive (such as C:) where you are generating your output to as a trusted location. I had to do this myself once upon a time.

A question: Are you seeing empty spaces where the navigation should be, or do you see just the help topic taking up the entire browser?

If you are seeing blank areas, try the Security Manager. If you're seeing just the help topic with no blank areas, then it sounds like you're opening some .htm file other than your start page.
