Unnecessary info appearing when hovering with the mouse over a picture

Hi all,

I encountered lately an annoying issue in the created pdf documents.

Whenever one is hovering the mouse over a picture, a popup information comes about the original location of the picture.

Do you have any idea of how I could block this unnecessary display of information when I am generating the pdf (directly from RoboHelp7 or from the Word document)?

I looked over the switches from the generation of pdf documents (both directly from RoboHelp7 and from Word) and did not find anything that could help me regarding this issue.

Thank you,

Bogdan

PS The issue is in both RoboHelp7 & 8.

Hi all,

I found out how to "fix" this, though it is a very long procedure...

RoboHelp7 & 8 as default, if ther is nothing entered in Image Properties/Screen Tip, it will display in the pdf documentation the complete path of the picture where it was inserted from. This could be sometimes an information you do not want to pass to a third party who is looking at the documentation (server names, directories, aso). Therefore something should be entered in that Screen Tip box.

Thank you,

Bogdan

I posted the very same question:  http://forums.adobe.com/thread/683139?tstart=0.  However your workaround doesn't make sense to me.  Are you saying if there's nothing in the "alt" field for the images that the file location displays in the PDF?  I'm very confused.

However, my horrible solution to this problem is not a permanent fix, but helped me meet a deadline.

I generate the online doc to a .docx file, apply formatting, layouts, etc and generate the PDF from there.

If I generate the PDF by using File --> Print PDF from Word, nothing appears when the mouse hovers over an image.  The MAJOR disadvantage to this is that this method causes ALL links to be disabled in the PDF, including the Table of Contents.  The project I'm currently working on is relatively small, so I generate the PDF by using File --> Print PDF, then spend 1/2 day or so relinking everything in the PDF file.

hope this helps!
