Upgraded to Server8 and Converted Now nothing is displaying.

I have put up a test server and installed RoboHelp8 Server on it. I can access the admin page and everything appears to be working and configured properly. After I set this all up I installed Robo Help 8 and upgraded my old project (from v5.5) and the conversion stated everything was properly updated. I then Generated WebHelp Pro and Published to the server and everything went as expected. No errors, no issues with upload etc. After all of this i got the admin page and find my project then 'View Projects' and the page launches but there is no output. Totally blank screen.

I have tried playing with a few publish options and republished a few times but still no luck.

I hope someone here can get me pointed in the right direction. I am very new to the robohelp world so any and all help would be appreciated!

It may be checking the rights attached to the area in which the project has been published. Has the userid you are using to view the output got viewing rights? Can you also check that the output displays OK when you have generated - but not published - the output.

I have set the entire RoboHelp/Server/ folder to full permissions for everyone just for testing purposes. The results are the same. When I generate and preview my content as WebHelp Pro I do get :

"The following items cannot be viewed using Preview. To test all functionality please publish your project to robohelp server"

Window properties

Project Merging

I hit okay here and I will be able to view locally the shell to RoboHelp. The search header, index, glossery, etc. There however is no content loaded into the system even locally. In the program itself I can view everything...all 10,000+ files and documents.

I just noticed this issue too I dont know that it would completely render the system as nothing but maybe:

"

Applying WebHelp Pro 5.50 Template...

...............................Template Error: can not resolve macro: WH_LNG_FtsMaxResult

...................................................................

Finished applying Template in 1 sec(s)"

That is right at the end of the generate log. We really need to get this system live soon otherwise I think we will have to start looking elsewhere or program an in house application for it.

I was able to resolve the compliation issue with the thread provided. However after rebuilding and publishing the project I am still not seeing any output at all from my project. To reitterate I am Using a RoboHelp5 project upgraded to RoboHelp8. RoboHelp 8 Server, and I am presuming everything is working because I can get to the admin just fine as specified in the setup pdf. I am generating in WebHelp Pro as I need functionality to search within the PDF's in the project.

I am not finding too many other people with this issue too, which is making troubleshooting all the more difficult Thank you for all the help thus far though Colum!

OK next generate WebHelp output and see if that runs. If it doesn't, try importing half of the topics into a new project and see if that displays when your publish. In fact out of interest, what is inside the default topic of your proejct?

My default topic is just a Main_Menu.htm. Its a basic HTML page nothing fancy. I have generated the WebHelp and viewing it on local machine will produce the 'shell' with the search, index, glossery,etc... but no content still. However if I copy this output to a webserver I am able to see everything. The only issue here then would be the lack of pdf searching. I am going to now try to create a new project with only a few topics in it.

Curious.. I reinstalled the RH8Server component thinking that maybe that was the issue. Rebuilt and published again and no such luck. I decided to take a different route and took the Output folder from the WebHelp pro and dumped it into an IIS website out of curiosity. When I went to the main page everything output perfectly? The search even worked and even found the information inside of PDF/XLS files. This got me to thinking...what is the purpose of RoboHelp Server if I am able to just publish the information right to a web site and have the same results?
