Upgrading Version of Robohelp

New Here ,
Sep 01, 2009 Sep 01, 2009

Hi, I am currently running version 5.2 and am going considering upgrading to version 8. My main bagage file I have at the moment is a CHM file but the new file is not a chm file.

Is it possible to convert the data held in my bagage file so it is readable in Robohelp 8 or am I going to have to start from scratch? If I am going to have to start from scratch then not sure if will upgrade.

Any help please?

Many thanks

Carl

Hi,

Is your primary layout a CHM, or do you have CHM as baggage files? RoboHelp 8 still supports creating CHM and you can still add baggage files to your project.

Greet,

Willam

Hi there

You are referring to a feature as if it were an output, so I'm a bit unclear on what you are asking.

A Baggage File is a file a RoboHelp Author has elected to include in all outputs that are created. While you might include a .CHM as Baggage to be included in output, it's more likely you are referring to your .CHM based output. So I'd like to clarify if that's the case here.

Are you creating CHM based output in your version 5 today? Upgrading is normally as simple as:

  1. Make a backup copy of your project
  2. Open the project using the new version

Cheers... Rick
