Use system colors in help file

We have a number of projects, each project has different word files and the projects are related to one master project.
Our topic titles are put in a non-scrolling region and we use a dark blue watermark for the non-scrolling region. In Word the topic titles have black background and white letters (color: automatic, because when I generate printed documentation I want them to be black, on the dark blue watermark in the help file the letters must be white).
After compiling I put the master hlp-file and all the oder hlp-files and cnt-files in one directory and when I first open one file, the title is black. I use the option "use system colors" and the title becomes white and it stays white when I open it next time, but only in this same directory.
If I copy the directory on my local disc or anywhere (I also copy the gid-file of the master project) the title becomes black and I have to change the option another time.
When our clients install our online help, they have the same problem and we have to tell them how to change color.

Isn't there a way to keep the letters white in the help, without making the color white in the word-file?

Create a new template based on the currently attached template. Modify the Style to match what you want, open the document then attach the new template. Make sure the automatically update styles check box is checked and click OK.

Hope this helps,

Brian

??? my word-file is fine. I know I could change my titles in the template (white instead of automatic color for the letters), and they would always stay white in the help-files.
But when I create printed documentation I'll have to change the color. I wanted to know, if it wasn't possible to switch the option "use system colors" in the help window definitively on, so it can't switch off and back into black in the help-file, every time I give it to a costumer.

I think I follow the question. When you create printed documentation you select a template. Set up that template to have the styles you want.

When you generate RH automatically maps some styles and you map others. What the style looks like in the help has no relevance to what it looks like in the output if you use a template.

Thanks, but I'm not sure you understood me, perhaps I shouldn't have been talking about printed documentation (I don't have a problem with it, when I use the template I want). I told something wrong: in word, my titles are white on black background (not automatic)
I want my topic titles in my help file to appear white on a dark blue watermark.
Therefore, the color of my topic titles in word ist also white (The titles in my template have white color). But when I compile, the titles appear black on dark blue (which can't be seen) and I have to click "Options - use system colors". Then the titles appear in white. The problem: every costumer has to activate this option when opening help for the first time. Mostly, they think there is an error in our help and they don't have the idea to use the menu "options - use system colors".
Is it impossible to have white titles on dark background in help, without first activating the system colors option in the help window? Or must I abandon the watermark which is recommended by the enterprise for CI reasons?

Thanks, I hope it was clear now. 😉
