Can someone please confirm what version of Windows 2008 Server that RoboHelp Server 8 will run on?
The Server Admin group says that they have to replace the server on which RH Server 8 is currently running an end-of-line operating system (Windows 2003).
According to my support person, it would be really good if it could run on 64 bit Windows 2008 Server R2.
FYI -- We're still using RoboHelp 7 with the last patch that allowed it to talk to RH Server 8. If it is really important to convert up to RoboHelp 8, please let me know that as well.
Thanks.

RoboHelp Server 8 is definitely supported on a Windows Server 2008 32bit machine. I am less sure if a 64bit machine is supported. My good friend John Daigle will know. Paging John Daigle! Paging John Daigle!

Hi, Colum. I forgot to post back here after answering Paula's question off line. Sorry.
In my experience I have only known of one successful install on 64-bit. Adobe does not officially support it (at least in this present release). However, I know they are looking into it because of the growing popularity of 64 bit. My advice is to stick with 32-bit for the time being.
(This is not official, just my take from experience.)
Thanks

Hi John,
I was wondering if you had any updates to RH8 Server running on Win 2008 64 bit. My guess is that we will have to upgrade to RH9 but wanted to see if we can stick with RH8.
Thanks,
Doug

Hi Doug.
I've not heard of any change in the officially supported versions of RoboHelp Server. Sorry.

Doug. I've been pointed in the direction of this link which outlines the currently supported platforms for RoboHelp Server 9. You may also wish to know that RoboHelp Server 9 has both 32bit and 64bit installers available.
