WebHelp folder and issue generating RoboHelp AIR file

Hi:

I get a "WebHelp folder could not be copied" message after I click the "Generate" button in the AIR wizard. It does show me the progress bar with the title "Generating AIR Package", but after a few minutes, I get the "WebHelp folder could not be copied" message. And then another message "The Adobe AIR package could not be generated".

My WebHelp folder is 80MB and contains 3700 files and 43 subfolders.

However, if I keep all the AIR wizard settings same but change ONLY the WebHelp folder location to the generated output of the CustomerCare sample RoboHelp project (2 MB; 224 files and 8 folders), then the AIR file is successfully generated.

So this leads to two possibilities:
1. There is a limit on the size of the WebHelp folder to generate the AIR file successfully. Does someone know what is this upper limit?
2. There is a certain file or a file type in my WebHelp folder that is not present in CustomerCare WebHelp folder that could be causing the AIR packager to break. This seems unlikley since I have HTML files, JPEGS, GIFs, etc. the usual files typical of a WebHelp output.

Can someone help?

Thanks,
K

This issue is resolved. I was having this problem because of a couple of corrupt files in the project. Once I removed the files, I was able to generate the AIR file successfully.

Please change the WebHelp output location of your project to C:\ or D:\.

Try copying the output folder from your existing project location to c:\ or d:\ root folder. You are possibly hitting the Windows limitation on length of the file path - 255/260 characters, if that is true, Windows will fail to copy the folder.

Otherwise, RoboHelp Packager does not have any dependency on folder location.

Vivek:

I don't think the file path is the problem. My 80 MB WebHelp folder that did not work was in D:/ABCD/WebHelp while the RoboHelp CustomerCare 2MB WebHelp folder that worked was in C:\Documents and Settings\All Users\Documents\Documents\Adobe\Adobe RoboHelp 7\RoboHTML\Samples\CustomerCare\!SSL!\WebHelp_US.

Anyway, I tried what you suggested and moved my 80MB WebHelp folder to D:/WebHelp. No luck. Same Error.

So I still think it is the size of the WebHelp folder that is the problem; not the folder location.

Thanks,
K
