Hi,

For best results, keep the entire path and file name below 255 characters. But why do you want to know? Are you just curious or do you perhaps have a problem?

Thanks for the answer.  The longest title I have encountered was 122 character long, but my client wanted to know if there was a limit. So I was curious.

What exactly do you mean by the path? The topic file is inside a project. Do you mean I have to consider if it is inside a hierarchy of folders in the Project pod? I would have to include the name of the folder(s)?

Hi,

Older browsers have a maximum URL length of 255 characters. So therefore it is best to keep the total URL length under 255 characters.

Very long topic names in folders with very longs names have been known to cause problems for RH too. Although I have not seen this behaviour myself.

Even long folder paths of imported FM documents cause problems in the resulting RH topics - some cross-refs work & others don't depending in on the overall path length (much shorter than 255, I discovered).
