Which do I need to Order?

Guest

We're currently on RH 7 and need to upgrade to 8.

I know there's RH client and RH server.

Our company wants to make sure we need to order both...for example, we need to run

RH on a laptop, which would be the client version and the server version, which also includes

RH is only for the server, correct? I hope that makes sense.

Thanks

  Doug

Hi Doug

Well, that's a particularly sticky issue. You really only need the Server part if you seriously need the features RoboHelp Server offers. Note that nearly everything it offers can be obtained using other means.

Sometimes folks blindly purchase RoboHelp Server because they believe they have to have it in order to view WebHelp or FlashHelp on the web. But any web server will do. So you really need to examine what you want to accomplish and purchase based on that.

If your only goal is to create WebHelp files and post on a web server for others to access and view, all you need is RoboHelp Office.

Cheers... Rick

Hi Doug.

To add to what Rick has already offered, you may want to look at this post on my blog that outlines the licences required to run RH client and RH server.
