I am using RH8 for Word, Word version is 2007. This time I moved the project to my local drive and got rid of the batch files.
So, finally we got the help generated, (minus the table of contents), but now, the destination topics show up in the generated help and the jumps are lost. We can no longer navigate to the topics. Below I am inserting a copy of the generated help. Notice the "*"? It is followed by the topic and the window.

This is not an isolated occurrence. All the hotspot jumps in the project are the same. Is there a way to fix all of them at once? the only way I have been able to do this is by deleting all from the "*" to the end, and then re-create the jump. Peter, did you have the same occur to you when you tested the sample project I sent?
Please help, this is so frustrating!

Are you saying the API didn't help?
Either way, you would have to contact Tech Support and pay for the incident.
Given that Windows 7 and Vista do not support the form of help you are creating, is it not time to move away from it?

Hi Peter,
I am sorry, maybe I did not explain this issue. We do not use graphics for the hot spots, but text. Usually that text is formatted using a bullet style. The font used is arial. I highlight the text in the Word document and then hit CTL+ J (see below).
I was not aware that Windows 7 and Vista do not support WinHelp. What would you recommend? I do want to move away from Word (with a passion).
Thanks for all your help.

The links I have tried in the output I created work. Give me a specific topic and link to test.
What help you use needs to be discussed with your developers. Assuming it is a desktop application, they will need to use either a CHM installed locally or AIR help. Both can be produced using RoboHelp HTML.

Hi Peter,
Thank you for the information on the help. I will discuss this with the developers. Would the CHM and AIR help work also for the "cloud"?
Regarding the issues I am having with the jumps, I chose the following jumps and topics from the project I sent you the other day (pages 17-19). Hope these will help?
Utilities > System Maintenance > System Configuration and Control > Copy Custom Forms

Opening the Copy Custom Forms program displays the Copy Custom Forms Setting window. The program allows you to specify whose form settings you wish to use as the source, and which user will be the recipient of the new forms. It also allows you to indicate what action you wish the program to take if the recipient already had a form selected.
Follow these steps to use the Copy Custom Forms program:

$ Copy Custom Forms

CHMs are not suitable for web based apps and neither is desktop AIR Help. There is a browser based version of AIR but it does not have all the features. See my site.
I went to that topic and the links work fine.
