Why do ePub TOCs display at end of the ePub, and is there a fix to move the TOC to the front?

Hi,

I'm using TCS 4 (Frame 11 and RoboHelp 10) to generate ePub titles (books to read on mobile devices, to differentiate from a FM book) to upload to reselling sites such as Amazon and iBooks.

The title was generated as a FM 11 book with a TOC, then imported into RH 10 to create the ePub. But the imported FM TOC automatically displays after the manuscript content  within the ePub, instead of in the front as it should.

I've tried creating a hyperlinked Topic to use as a table of contents "page" as a fix within my RH project, but this didn't work correctly in the ePub.

Is there a way to move the TOC to the front of the title?

Many thanks in advance,

Charlotte

First off, is the ToC in FM at the beginning of the book? This question sounds like it should be over in the Multi-screen HTML5 forum since the issue is happening with ePUB output

Hi Jeff,

Thanks for jumping in so quickly! Yes, the TOC is the 2nd .fm file in  the FM book. I'll jump over to the multi-screen HTML5 forum and see if I can find more information.

In my experience, the TOC will show as it should, but be duplicated in the back of the EPUB.

I've resigned myself to seeing it twice, as I haven't been able to remove the 2nd instance while maintaining a valid/usable EPUB

Thanks Matt,

I'd happily settle for two TOC. As you see 2 of them, that's an indicator that I might have set up some unknown something incorrectly, probably in RH.

Hi Charlotte, it sounds as if you haven't set your Rh project to use the Fm TOC. Go to File > Project Settings > Import to confirm that the TOC is being created from the Fm TOC. Then set your SSL to use the imported Fm TOC.
