Robohelp 2022.4.179, Windows 11 Pro 23H2
Using an existing Output Preset, or creating a new one, the Style Mapping table does not contain any styles from the .css used by the documents in the Table of Contents, nor any styles from the Word Tempate. I managed at one point yesterday to get it to populate correctly, but haven't been able to duplicate whatever steps I went through to get it to work.
Any ideas about what's going wrong?

I can't give you a precise reason but see if the process outlined here helps.

I followed those steps when I created a new Output Preset, and had the same results. I suspect I've encountered some sort of bug.
I was able to copy a "presets" file from a colleague's computer, and can edit that file to add new format mappings (although it's not an easy edit), but every time I make a change to the Output Preset in RoboHelp, it overwrites the preset file with no mappings. Even opening the Output Preset results in it being "dirty" (even when no changes have been made), and you need to remember to not save it, or it will overwrite the preset file without the mappings.
As I said, I know I got this working one time yesterday, so there must be a sequence of events that gets this to work. I'll continue trying to replicate that and add it here if I succeed.

Does it happen if you don't have a Word template referenced?

If I don't select a Word template, the table is empty.

It's empty anyway so no change?

Looks like I was wrong in the above statement, the table's not entirely empty. There's one entry in the Character tab and one on the Paragraph tab, and this is true whether or not a Word template is selected.
Character tab:
Paragraph tab:
The only difference I see between with a Word template and without is what I see in the "IN WORD OUTPUT" dropdown menu.
With Word template:
Without Word template:

Sorry, the last screen snip is of the Character tab rather than the Paragraph tab, but the menu is the same in both -- that is, only "Use RoboHelp Style" and "Use Word Default." Nothing else in the dropdown.

Can you share the Word template and your CSS? If you can, see the Contact page on my site and email them to me. If you have the time a new project with just one topic would be better but use one of the sites, don't email that.

Hey Peter, as I was constructing a new temp project to send to you, I'm finding that the temp project is working as expected!
I inherited the project I'm currently working in, and it's quite large (used to produce several single-sourced documents). I assume it's been upgraded from previous versions a few times and it's probably got a lot of internal issues that develop as a result of that sort of thing. First thing Monday, I think I'll create a new project for the book I'm currently working on, see if that works as expected (I bet it will), and then begin migrating all of the other docs into the new project. (I'm sweating as I write this...).
I'll post here when I've made progress on that, as to whether it's still working as expected or not.
Thanks for your help!

Anything in the Contents folder can be copied across to the new project. Other functions such as the glossary can be imported using the context menu.
In this instance I wouldn't import templates or presets. Instead I would have the old project and the new open and recreate them with the required settings.
