Hi all,
This comes from a discussion with one of my developers...we are looking at restricting help topics based on a user's security settings (ie their 'role') and my original plan was to use conditional builds and tag topics with the roles that would need them. However, the roles in our product are actually just a collection of permissions, and our product permits clients to create/modify their own custom roles, which my dev says won't work with the conditional builds.
So the developer's question is: can RH detect some sort of user context (their permissions) and dynamically restrict access to topics?
It's also possible that we haven't fully understood the capabilities of conditional builds so feel free to educate me.
Thanks!
Sounds like you'd like something more like DUCC filters/facets - but there's nothing built-into RH to restrict stuff externally. Maybe if it was hosted using RoboServer.
