Has anyone successfully queried a database from Robohelp 2020? I'm checking to see if this is possible.

What are you trying to accomplish? RH itself doesn't do database queries, but you may be able to do some scripting that could go off & fetch data for inclusion in a RH topic...

My boss wants our site users to be able to search through 1000 products to find the right one. She didn't say database but in my mind 1000 entries equal a database.

I also considered adding the information to the glossary. But I would want a separate glossary for this product information.

I am open to suggestions.

Depends on what format the 1000 products info is & where it's located. This sounds more like website editing after the fact with some server-side scripting.

I don't understand the "website editing after the fact" part.

The information will come to me as a download from a database.

Sorry, I thought you said that you wanted your website's users to be able to query some database of products - that would require a website designer to add some scripting in the HTML you've produced via RH to perform a database query.
Back to what I was asking before - what are you trying to accomplish? What's it going to look like inside RH or on the  website? Are you trying to suck info (from where? in what format?) into your RH project for static display as HTML or do some sort of dynamic query filter by product codes?

If the information is on a website or some HTML source, what you could try is Zoomsearch 7 in RoboHelp (grainge.org)

There is a later version but essentially it works the same way. You would likely need some developer help but you would search those pages and present the information in a topic in RoboHelp in a page like this. Search (grainge.org) You can design that as you wish.

The first link tells you how to integrate that page into a RoboHelp Classic project but your developers will be able to figure out how to integrate something into 2020 as the code is strict HTML5 and CSS3. That means any HTML can be made to work.
