Hello all, I was wondering if there are any substantial differenced between the  RH 2019 (classic) version and the RH 2019 version.

I noticed that when importing projects to the new version, they lose retro compatibility, and updates are the same for both versions...

Does the RH 2019 (classic) version have less features than the  RH 2019 version?

There were ways back subject to losing some features but projects have always lost retro compatibility between versions. This time CSS and HTML standards are being applied so there is no way back.

A single update is issued but it applies some changes to Classic and others to 2019 (new).

Yes there are differences at the moment as 2019 gets more fully featured with updates. Some things will not come back where they were not deemed to be used.

Take a look at the RoboHelp Reimagined sample project that includes information about the changes or look at the RoboHelp Tour on my site.

I looked at the project on your site thank you very much.

the main differences I noticed (with the RH 2019 classic version) are the following:

- user interface has been completely redesigned

-HTML5 and CSS3 should also be supported in RH2019 (classic)

- new skin editor

- Microsoft Word is no longer indispensable

-new outputs present in both projects

Where can I find a table  of the versions compared with the various new feature and limitations of RH 2019 calssic version?

Furthermore, will the next updates indicate which features is for (olny for RH 2019 or both versions)?

I suspect that one of the drivers behind creating the new version was to be able to support HTML5 and CSS3 in the editor. If it was as easy as just tweaking the old editor a bit, I supect that would have been done some time ago.

I think you mean Word is no longer required. Docs can still be imported and generating to the ODF format when added will create files that can be read in Word.

The only table I have seen is already out of date as Adobe are changing the new version rapidly. To the best of my knowledge, the updates will not be specific to Classic and New. The update may contain changes for just one or both. You would need to read the release notes.

My site and the RoboHelp Reimagined sample both have a topic covering what is not there or not finished but not in a table.
