How can I create one output with selectable versions?

Hi All,

I write a document for multiple sites. There are many site-specific descriptions, that soon will be too difficult to handle.

I was thinking to create some kind of flags, that the reader can select in a drop-down list (which version to read). For example he/she selects "Site A", then only those texts appear that are specific for "Site A" and all sites.

Basically I am looking for something like Conditional Build Tags, with the exception that there is only one output and the reader is able to select the version that he/she wants to read (he/she can access all versions of the document).

Is there a script available for that purpose? If so, how can I refer to the site-specific texts in the script?

The answer depends on your version of RoboHelp and the output type. That's why the Sticky Posts ask for that information at the start of any thread. On this occasion we will let you off with a caution. (Just teasing)

For most recent versions a responsive layout would work noting that any user can see any of the outputs, they simply apply the filter they need. See the sample projects for information and The RoboHelp Tour on my site.

If you are generating webhelp, then Content Categories would work.

Go for responsive if you can.
