After generating WebHelp_Pro output for Robo help project, we don't have access to production Robo Server URL to publish the output using RoboHelp Office product option of Publish.

So in order to publish web help pro output to robo server , Is  copying the content of that folder to directly the server context location work ?

For Eg : if context name is robotest then we tried to copy in to the folder

robotest/server/general/projects/projectname

Then when we tried to access with url :

http://roboserverurl:8080/contextname/server?project=projectname

it is not working.

But if i publish the project using robo help office product publish option , it is working fine.

Please help how to deploy web pro robo help project in to robo server with out using publish option of the tool.

Hi, JohnW and welcome to the Forums.

I am going to bring this to the attention of Adobe Engineering to see if anything has changed. Meanwhile, here is what I have understood about the proper publishing workflow.

The second method you described in your post (the method that works fine) is the supported and proper way to transfer (publish) your WebHelp Pro project to the RoboHelp Server. This is a bit more involved than simply copy/pasting output from
regular WebHelp to a server that does not have the RoboHelp Server database application.

There are a couple of reasons for this. In addition to feedback analytics, RoboHelp Server allows authors to limit access to authenticated authors and publish to "protected Areas" which are also authenticated. In order to authenticate and synchronize the information between the authoring client and the RoboHelp Server, it must be published using the required workflow using the Publishing Wizard as you described.

BTW. are you using Adobe RoboHelp Server 8, 9 or 10?

Thanks!

Hi there

As we wait for a more knowledgeable person to pop in, why are you opposed to using the Publishing option in RoboHelp?

Cheers... Rick
