Hi

We want to use Box to store and share folders/ files among a selected group of users.

We are publishing RH11 webhelp outputs and want to launch index.html files directly from this directly. Is it possible? If yes, please suggest how.

See this help page on Dropbox's site. The Public folder – Dropbox

Files can be shared but HTML content will not be rendered so the answer for Dropbox is No. Not surprising as they would become website hosts significantly increading the bandwidth requirements quite apart from other considerations.

I have not tried Box or Drive. With Dropbox stuff that I have put there will work because it is opening from the local copy. I don't believe you can make it work for real users but I will put something up there shortly to try it.  think it will fail because these repositories are not configured as web servers.

There was another thread on this recently. See Launching Webhelp from cloud-based file repository

To be more accurate, Dropbox Plus and Busines Users can render HTML content until 1 September 2017.

Thanks Peter. I read about some Dropbox add-ons that can help me. But as of now, we are sticking to Box.

It would be helpful if you could post back later whether or not you could get the help to run from Box.

I tried methods suggested for Google drive (which used to work when Google had its hosting services) and Dropbox for Box as well. But none worked. Only then I posted here.

So, I don't really know a way to make it work, if any.

But if I figure out something, will definitely share here.
