I have a RoboHelp project that I started in Version 5 and am
now working on in Version 6. It has just under 400 topics and just
under 500 bmps, although some are used several times and a couple
are used hundreds of times. I had no problem generating it in v5,
and I've generated parts of it in v6, but I made a few small
changes, and now when I generate a Word doc (2003), at some point
in the document all I get is tiny squares instead of the pictures.
These are not like the ones for missing images, with the red X;
they are smaller and blank. Sometimes all the pictures appear up to
page 53, sometimes it's page 57, and occasionally as far as 215,
but the document is 420 or so pages.
I tried generating without the topics where the images stop
appearing, to see if there's a problem with those topics, but it
still stopped including pictures at some point. I tried
reinstalling RoboHelp, deleting the cpd file, and including several
different variations of groups of topics, but it always only makes
it part of the way through before the remaining pictures are left
out. Then I generated the same content as a chm, and everything is
there, which sounded like no problems with the files but maybe a
problem with resources. I turned everything off and restarted with
no luck, and I copied all the files to another computer with no
luck either.
It seems like something got set, and it keeps doing this ever
since. Are there any other files besides the cpd that I can delete
to give this as much as possible a fresh start? I did try the trick
of linking the images and then editing the links to save them in
the doc (from
http://www.grainge.org/pages/authoring/printing/print_issues.htm#word_issues),
but I'd rather fix the project than use a work-around. Any other
ideas? Thanks!
