Hello,
We are soon going to be officially moving to the RH2020/latest upgrade. We have been using RH 2017 to get a responsive HTML5 output until now.
After we move to the latest upgrade/tool there will be a while/some transition period until we start the new frameless output. We still want to be able to use the existing source in the RH 2020 upgrade to generate the responsive html5 output, similar to what we used to get in 2017.
Can the Responsive HTML5 output from RH 2020 upgrade give us that? Does this output work the same as it would if generated from RH 2017?

You realize that RH2017 is the Classic version & RH2020 only supports the New UI that came in in RH2019, right? There is an upgrade path that converts a copy of the Classic project & puts it into the new UI format. However, if you've customized the skin in RH2017, it's highly unlikely that it will be converted too. If you haven't already, I would get a trial copy of RH2020 on a different (non-production) machine, make sure it's all patched up, and convert a copy of the RH2017 project to see if it all goes smoothly and see what the output is going to look like.

Your source topics will be converted but the upgrade of the skins is different.
In this topic The Skin Editor (grainge.org) under Upgrading Customised Skins it states the Indigo skin updates. However, I think that may have changed and I will check with Adobe. Meantime though as Jeff has pointed out, the upgrade is made from a copy of your Classic project so you will still have that in its original form. Therefore there is no risk in trying it.

Sorry to say it is still true that customisation is lost except with the Indigo skin so you will need to reapply your changes.
CORRECTION
I have received further clarification.
