Robohelp 2017 project files (.xpj) crashes when importing to RoboHelp 2019

I've installed version RoboHelp 2017. It works fine with the project files.

A colleague of mine is going to take over the work wtih the files.

He has installed Robohelp 2019 (trial version). He's not able to open my project file.

Actually we could open the file, but all pages were empty. The pages were marked a red cross.

What to do? Is it because of the trial version - or are the versions not compatible??

He should be able to open it in 2019 Classic. Perhaps he is trying with the

new 2019 and that will not open an XPJ file. It could be upgraded but then

it's a very different animal.

If you both intend to work on the project at different times, you should

both be on the same version.

I'm sure its the new 2019 version he has.

Soon it will only be him working in it.

Is it because of the trial version?

We've copied the files to a new folder on his pc. When he opens Robohelp he cannot see the xpj (and other robohelp files) file....??

So with File Explorer the XPJ is there, correct?

When you install 2019, both versions are installed so he does have both. The issue is which one is he using?

The fact that it is a trial is irrelevant. The trial has full functionality.

It's not working on his pc... the files are on his pc, but he cannot open the 2017 version .xpj file.

THere's no content.... just empty.

Windows File Explorer. Can you see the XPJ file on his machine?

It's no good telling me he can't open the XPJ. I need to know whether he is trying to use 2019 Classic, it looks like 2017, or the new version that looks very different.

If he is using the new version, exactly what is he clicking to upgrade?
